Core Competencies Level 3

National Certificate in Community Support Services Core Competencies Level 3 is designed for Support Workers in a care facility or home based care.

This qualification can be done as a standalone qualification or as a pathway to further qualifications.

Core Competencies certificate has a credit value of 57. This is made up of four compulsory Unit Standards then you make up the remaining credits by choosing from a list of elective Unit Standards.

Over all there are 36 Unit Standards to choose from. Topics range from

• Culturally Safe Practices,
• Supporting a person to meet their personal cares,
• Code of Rights
• Risk Management
• Safe work practices
• Abuse indicators

And many more.

On completion of this Certificate you gain a nationally recognized National Certificate from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

You may then choose to continue training in the following areas and gain further skills and nationally recognized qualifications.
